Information Technology increasingly permeates every aspect of society and provides the foundation for most modern innovation, our girls are avid use of new technologies but to date, girls and women continue to be significantly underrepresented in technical occupations.
Tech needs girls is run by Soronko Solutions which is a social enterprise that brings social change using technology. We develop technology solutions across different channels ,web, mobile, pos, tech needs girls came as part of the social projects we run, we just completed an interactive session where we took 50 girls on how to create websites develop mobile applications networking and designing innovative software. We wanted the girls to start to create technology.2013 was a very good year for us because we were able to get more girls to participate and develop keen interest in pursuing information technology as career roles.

For this year 2014 we are happy to announce a second edition of tech needs girls which comes into collaboration with the achievers book club which is an independent ghananian non-profit organisation with a simple mission: education for all girls in slums in Ghana. Their story started with a girl called Amina who lives in the Accra slum of Nima and despite excelling at school was forced into marriage at the age of 12, what happened next was that in 2011 She co-founded the ABC to help prevent similar situations to be suffered by other young girls in the community this mad Amina an inspiration to many other girls.
